Guest Speaker: Mr. Talha Tufail Bhatti

We had the privilege of hosting Mr. Talha Tufail Bhatti, a noted environmentalist and Research Associate at the Institute of Regional Studies Islamabad, as our guest speaker for the KIIR Winter Internship Program. Mr. Bhatti is leading the “Strengthening Regional Climate Resilience” program at IRS.
In his insightful presentation, Mr. Bhatti addressed critical issues related to global climate change and warming. He highlighted the responsibilities of industrialized nations and the unique challenges faced by developing countries. His discussion included an in-depth analysis of regional climate change policies, with a particular focus on Pakistan, India, and both sides of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr. Bhatti encouraged students to embrace the challenge of creating impactful climate advocacy policies. He expressed significant concerns regarding the melting of glaciers and the implications of militarization in Kashmir, emphasizing the urgent need for collective action in addressing these pressing environmental issues.
